Let's weave! In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn the basics of frame loom weaving from warping the loom, to drafting a design, and to learning basic tapestry techniques. I will demonstrate how to work with a variety of flowers and leaves to create one-of-a-kind botanical weavings. I will also assist you in developing your piece through every step of the textile-making process. A brief presentation of history and inspiration will be given. You will leave this class with a small wall-hanging or “woven drawing.” All materials are included and students will take home their very own Hello! Loom. Students will also leave class with an electronic PDF full of resources for further learning. 

This is a beginner workshop, but all skill levels are welcome.

Weaving is a tactile and sensory experience; students are encouraged to use class time to play and experiment on their looms; to explore material, texture, color and pattern in an effort to develop their own visual language.

I reserve the right to cancel the workshop 72 hours in advance due to low attendance or any extenuating circumstances.
