Learn how to weave with rope!

 In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn how to warp the loom, draft a design, and to learn how to use rope as a drawing tool and  sculptural element. Your instructor Jessie will demonstrate how to work with rope materials to create variations within your woven work.

She will also assist you in developing your piece through every step of the textile-making process. A brief presentation of history and inspiration will be given. You will leave this class with a small woven wall-hanging or “woven drawing”. This is a beginner-intermediate class, but all skill levels are welcome.

Weaving is a tactile and sensory experience; students are encouraged to use class time to play and experiment on their looms; to explore material, texture, color and pattern in an effort to develop their own visual language. . Students will also leave class with an electronic PDF full of resources for further learning. 

For the live zoom workshop, materials will not be provided, though you will be sent resources via email 4 weeks before the class, so you have enough time to prepare for it. There is a limited quantity of spots in the class that have the option for you to purchase a loom, which will be shipped out to you before the class.
