Private Group Introduction to Tapestry Weaving Workshop (10 students)
Private Group Introduction to Tapestry Weaving Workshop (10 students)
Let’s weave!
In this private 3.5 hour workshop, you will learn the basics of frame loom weaving from warping the loom, to drafting a design, and to learning basic tapestry techniques. I will work alongside you, helping you develop your piece through every step of the textile-making process. We will explore structure, image building and materiality- students will have the option to incorporate a variety of fibers and intentionally sourced objects such as dried botanicals, shells, stones, and beads as part of a process I call “tactile collage”.
You will leave this class with a small wall-hanging or “woven drawing”. All materials will be provided and each student will take home their own Hello Loom to continue working on their project and weaving practice art home.
