Private Group Introduction to Tapestry Weaving Workshop - 6.5 hours
11In this immersive 6.5-hour private workshop, you’ll be guided through the process of creating your own one-of-a-kind woven artwork from start to finish. Beginning with the fundamentals of frame loom weaving, you’ll learn how to warp your loom, develop and draft a design, and build your composition using a range of foundational tapestry techniques.
Throughout the workshop, I’ll work closely alongside you, offering individualized guidance as your piece takes shape. Together, we’ll explore structure, image-making, color, texture, and materiality, with plenty of room for experimentation and creative expression.
In addition to a thoughtfully curated selection of fibers, you’ll have the opportunity to incorporate intentionally sourced materials—including dried botanicals, shells, stones, and beads—through a process I call “tactile collage.” These materials can be woven into or added to the surface of the textile, allowing you to create a highly personal piece with depth, texture, and meaning.
Designed to be both instructional and creatively expansive, this private workshop offers dedicated time to slow down, learn a new craft, and develop a finished woven artwork that reflects your own visual language.
